Congratulations to artist Eilidh Smith, whose artwork ‘Ready for a Ceilidh’ won the Daler Rowney Award in the artist category at this year’s exhibition at Nottinghamshire’s Patchings Art Centre.
I had the pleasure of framing this large artwork prior to its departure for exhibition: the painting was set into a deep rebate wood frame with a narrow spacer between the painting and the glass. The frame moulding was primed then painted with six coats of paint mixed exactly to complement the blue-grey tones in parts of the artwork.
I specialise in making frames to customers’ individual requirements. Whenever possible, frame mouldings used are approved by the Forest Stewardship Council, which certifies woods sourced from responsibly-managed forests.
